On 9 July 2021, the tug CHRISTOS XL, BP 30T, despatched from the port of Astakos, Greece to provide towing assistance to the laden general cargo ship ‘QUATERDECIES’, IMO no: 8504272, from open Ionian Sea, where she was adrift, due to a technical problem in the ship’s main engine. On July 10, the tug arrived at the ship’s drifting position whereupon tow connection was established. On July 12, the convoy arrived at the port of Augusta, Italy and the operation was completed.
