HHRM: Agreement with the Hellenic Shipowners’ Association of Tugs, Salvage, Antipollution and OSVs

The Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management (HHRM) signed a cooperation agreement with the Hellenic Shipowners’ Association of Tugs, Salvage, Antipollution and OSVs.
The two-year cooperation agreement addresses safety issues of offshore hydrocarbon research and exploitation operations. More specifically, the two partners will cooperate in the following areas:

  • Establishment of minimum technical specifications for support vessels involved in offshore hydrocarbon operations
  • Preparation of proposals for the development of legislation on issues such as the categorization of support vessels participating in offshore hydrocarbon operations and their certification requirements

It is recalled that Law 4409/2016 designates the Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management as the competent authority for the control of major risks in the hydrocarbon research and exploitation operations in Greece.
